So different from yesterday’s picture of darkness and despair. This picture is bright and light reminding us of the joy of Easter and that Jesus did not die, but rose again from the dead. It was and is a joyous day… but I am sure it must have been quite a shock for his disciples!
It is Jesus being alive again that is proof he has power over all things. It was through his weakness that he showed he was the strongest. The different stories of what happened on that first Easter Day are all so different and yet connect up together to tell us that something very special happened.
It was through her love for Jesus that Mary Magdalene and the other woman had got up early to visit the tomb to care for Jesus’ body after not having time on Friday. When they arrive there is no body. Their first thought is that it has been stolen, but very quickly the truth was known.
Have a very happy Easter Day and hope that you will be able to spend some of it in worship, with family and with friends.
