Getting ready for Lent

logo-dark

Lent begins on Wednesday 14th February and is the 40 days before Easter, when Christians make a particular focus on growing their faith and living out the Christian life. It is a kind of spiritual health check, a return to basics and reminding ourselves what it was like when we first accepted Jesus into our lives.

There are various ways you can do this during Lent, maybe follow a Bible Study written especially for Lent. The Church of England has published an app ‘LiveLent’ which uses John’s Gospel to provide a short reflection each day.

I want to do something more practical and so I have signed up to 40 acts of generosity, where each day an email will prompt me to do one of three things. One thing will be fairly easy, one will be medium difficulty and the third one will be more difficult. The idea is to challenge your faith and your generosity towards others.
