Information about Church and the Coronavirus health emergency

Many of you will be worried about the new infection called Coronavirus. It is has the official name Covid-19.

The Government is giving us regular updates about changing our behaviour and what special precautions we need to make. The most important thing you can do is washing your hands well, after using public transport,  mixing with groups of people and before handling or eating food.

The Church has also given us advice to make sure that our services are safe and the Revd Gill Behenna has produced a video with the main points which include.

  1. Only the priest leading the service will take communion wine – everyone else will have bread only.
  2. The congregation will share the peace but not by touching each other
  3. The priest will give a blessing by only speaking or signing the words, but without touching the person.
